The Anchorage Museum at Rasmuson Center is a fascinating place to visit. It contains a broad range of art and historical items related to Alaska and the arctic. The permanent collection includes 17,500 objects and also maintains a large collection of historical photographs. The museum is visited annually by 20 traveling exhibits from around the world. The main attraction at this multi-galleried museum is the Alaska Gallery with more than 1,000 pieces of history, artwork and photography by Alaskans.
