Casa Grande Ruins National Monument

Documenting early American settlers dating back to the fourteenth century, the ruins at Casa Grande have represented early architectural ingenuity, served as a home for various wildlife species, and are currently closely studied and pondered by historians and tourists alike. In a very hot region and in close proximity to some prominent Arizona rivers, Casa Grande makes for an interesting wildlife tour as well as a historic and educational experience.

There is some speculation as to what Casa Grande was used for. Some speculate it was a well-protected living space. Others think the windows and walls are aligned for the efficient study of astronomy. Either way, it still sparks wonder in all that visit.

Check out the Casa Grande Ruin Visitor Center or question an onsite park ranger for a thorough guide of the curious site.
