This is where the government is housed in the state of Arkansas. Located at Capital Avenue it is home to numerous historical exhibits. Taking sixteen years to construct, from 1899 to 1915, the Capitol Building stands 230 feet tall featuring a circular central drum tower, capped with a dome and cupola. Built over a century ago it is a replica of the US Capitol. History was made here and Bill Clinton once served as governor. The beautiful building includes State Capitol grounds having multiple monuments and memorials representing the state`s timeline. Included are Monument to Confederate Soldiers, Liberty Bell replica, Bauxite and Granite Boulders, Confederate War Prisoners Memorial, Law Enforcement Officers Memorial, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Arkansas Medal of Honor Memorial, Memorial Fountain, Monument to Confederate Women and Little Rock Nine Civil Rights Memorial.
