Lake Austell

Lake Austell made big news for fishing enthusiasts a few years back when a 15-pound, 12-ounce largemouth bass was hooked from its waters. All of 85 acres of the lake, with two fishing lakes, boat launch and dock and sandy swimming beach are ideally set in Village Creek State Park. Even though Lake Austell, along with the near by Lake Dunn, gets known more for fishing opportunities, even so swimming in the designated sandy beach area makes for a pleasurable water recreation. This spring-fed lake makes for a great swimming spot where only small electric boats are found. Additionally the sandy beach and wood deck for sunbathing makes for a precious happy spot under the sun.

Located along the scenic overlook just above Village Creek, Lake Austell offers an enticing swimming beach. It accommodates a spacious picnic area having tables, grills, water and a modern bathhouse assembled in its Day Use Area. The adjacent lovely playground along the beach has a sun deck that overlooks the lake. With 4 rental pavilions in the picnic area families can have all the fun. Not to be missed is the Echo Point on a near by trail that may have you shouting in the wilderness of this great swimming hole. Lake Austell provides the swimming hole experience for its visitors.
