Shores Lake

Shores Lake is a getaway that offers Arkansas outdoors at it's best. There's much to do here and camping facilities are pretty good if you want to enjoy blissful natural surroundings. With camping sites in place there is flowing water too, besides the lake. Dry Fork stream is a great place to pop into while here. Shores Lake Dam is also an excellent spot to visit. Shores Lake Water Rock Spur is in the vicinity and an absolute must-go. Both Hurricane Creek and Spirits Creek have exciting whitewater paddling that is highly recommended.

You might enjoy hiking if you're the outdoors kind but will need time to explore everything that's here. It is refreshing to absorb the beauty of the locale even as you enjoy the cool waters at an elevation of 300 feet.

Campgrounds comprising of hardwood and pine are lush with dogwoods. The scenic area has some camp sites with electric hookups. The good thing is that many sites are close together. Shores Lake is open all year round. The area sees pretty high levels of precipitation with May getting the most rain and January the least.

This exclusive haven with parking aprons of dirt and gravel has no potable water or showers in December, January and February. Rest of the year bath and shower facilities include flush toilets and hot showers that are wheelchair friendly too. Plus vaults are available here.

Enjoy swimming and boating on 82 acres of the lake that has boating ramps for both powered and non-power boats. Besides you can indulge yourself in fishing or hiking. Underwater structures are built to attract fish to the fishing piers. The lake is stocked with bass, catfish, and bluegills. Other accessible features include the boathouse, a ramp on the swimming beach, and a pavilion.
