Step back in time at the Wells Fargo History Museum to view artifacts on like gold scales, a treasure box, a working telegraph, and a Concord Coach scale model. Exhibits on Wells Fargo’s role in banking, stagecoach travel, the Pony Express, and Sacramento’s development are all colorfully interpreted for visitors. Exhibits are put up at two locations but the Old Wells Fargo Museum attracts visitors for its historical panoramic paintings, original maps and views of Sacramento. Enjoy a walk-in Agent’s office, a Wooton patent desk, and the Livingston Sacramento Postal History Collection. The Museum in Old Sacramento showcases a 140-year history with Museum staff dressed in period costume to guide tours. Housed in the original building exhibits include gold, money, treasure boxes, guns, tools and original papers. Admission is free.
