Moss Beach

Located in San Mateo County, California between Half Moon Bay and Pacifica, off Highway 1 is Moss Beach. It is most famous for the resident ghost house and the Moss Beach Distillery. Also famous is the Blue Lady Restaurant with one of the largest patio decks and ocean views in the region. Nightly, there is live music, to include jazz and blues bands.

As with any of the beaches and coastal towns along the Northern California coast, the weather can be changeable. Layered clothing is always recommended.

At Moss Beach, kayaking is a very well-liked sport. Kayakers climb over a set of rocks and launch from into the Pacific Ocean. The small region of sandy beach is enjoyed by adults and youth who like to play in the sand. Surfing is allowed and hiking or walking is common. Moss Beach is seated between Half Moon Bay and Pacifica, and there are an array of restaurants and gift shops in both towns to keep a tourist happy. One of the finest restaurants with a spectacular view is the “Moss Beach Distillery,” in Half Moon Bay. It’s famous for both seafood and steaks and having its own “ghost!”
