Fort Nathan Hale

Also known as Fort Hale Park and Black Rock, the Fort Nathan Hale is a popular city park of about 20-acre in New Haven. It is conveniently located at 36 Woodward Ave on the east shore of New Haven Harbor in New Haven, Connecticut. This beautiful park has derived its name from Nathan Hale, Connecticut`s official hero and has been owned by the state of Connecticut since 1921. The Fort Nathan Hale is home to two popular historic attractions, including the site of a 1659 fort and a Revolutionary War-era fort that make it a major historic site, which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1970 due to its great historic significance.
