New Haven Green Historic District

The New Haven Green, also known as a New Haven Green Historic District was declared a National Historic Landmark District on December 30, 1970. Comfortably located in downtown of New Haven, Connecticut, it is a privately owned park and recreation area of 16-acre, housing the central square of the nine-square settlement plan of the original Puritan colonists in New Haven. Today, this beautifully designed park by colonist John Brockett has become a major historic attraction of the city that hosts numerous public events like - summer jazz, the Festival of Arts and Ideas, and classical music concerts etc.
