Spread over 33 acres in the Buckhead region in Atlanta, the History Center attracts history buffs to see Southeast’s largest historic repositories along with two historic houses including Swan House and Smith Family Farm. Also the Centennial Olympic Games Museum, six historic gardens and Kenan Research Center are part of the Center. The History Center also includes the Margaret Mitchell House located in the midtown campus. Throughout the year the Center hosts lecture series inviting recognized authors and also organizes annual festivals, toddler programs, home school days, summer camps and more. The Center remains focused on augmenting the historic venue that features information and exhibits on the Civil War, Atlanta-specific history, Centennial Olympic Games, folk art and other related topics.
