Grant Park

This is the oldest city park in Atlanta that is just as popular as ever. The fourth biggest in size in Atlanta, Grant Park has two major attractions besides the park itself – Zoo Atlanta created in 1889, originally called Grant Park Zoo and the Atlanta Cyclorama that features the 1864 Battle of Atlanta from the American Civil War. Grant Park has many trees, providing good shade which is great in the summers. There are multiple pavilions available and it is fun to picnic when you can bring their own grills.

The Park is characterized by hills and trees and the paths that wind around them making it a great place for kids to play. It is pretty neat with a lot of room for families to enjoy a day out. The enticing grassy knolls and bits of open spaces are quite inviting. Grant Park has the intown neighborhood surrounding it that is Atlanta`s largest historic neighborhood. The park welcomes two million visitors annually.
