Listed on the National Register of Historic Places the Central Idaho Historical Museum sitting on four acres in the heart of McCall includes the Fire Wardens House that remains as it was in 1937. It is a gracious log structure in American Rustic style. Step back in time as you enter the front door. The machine shop exhibits the 19` fly wheel of the Corliss Steam Engine that powered the McCall mill from 1940 until it`s closing in the mid-seventies. On the huge front lawn is the six foot bronze statue of a young man. At the edge of the peaceful, meandering Forester`s walk stands Sloan Lookout, an aeromotor tower in which fire watchers perched. You can find picnic tables at Foresters Walk with parking available for daytime RV parking with restrooms. The main office of what was the former bunkhouse is a resource room and gift shop featuring local and regional items.
