Fishing on the lake is superb, and 30+lb monster trout are not uncommon. Lake cruises are an excellent way to see the areas wildlife, like Ospreys, Eagles and Loons, and its worth a trip to Bernard's Point to watch the Mountain Goats bounding up and down the cliffs.
Nearby State Parks offer ample opportunity for camping, fishing and hiking. Round Lake State Park is only 10 miles south of Sandpoint. Farragut State Park has a well-developed swimming area and perfect sand beach a Beaver Bay.
