The Bird Aviation Museum and Invention Center serves the local community and beyond by offering a world-class educational experience centered on the themes of aviation and innovation. See historic planes and vintage cars as also learn of inventions that changed the world. The Museum has seasonal and regular hours and appointments vary accordingly. There is no charge to enjoy the displays. Dr. Forrest Bird inventor of the respirator founded this museum in 2007 that features exhibits on aviation, inventors and their inventions. Located in Sagle about 17 miles southeast of Sandpoint, off Sagle Road on Bird Ranch Road it offers group visits with prior arrangements. The Museum offers indoor space of 16,000 square feet, restrooms with handicap accessibility, state-of-the-art kitchen and a gift shop.
