Manhattan Building

Listed in the U.S. National Register of Historic Places, the 16-story Manhattan Building was designed by architect William Le Baron Jenney and completed construction in 1891. This is the oldest surviving purely skeletal supporting skyscraper in the world and which was designated as a Chicago Landmark in 1978. The versatile Manhattan Building anchors a row of numerous historic skyscrapers along the South Dearborn Street.
