Clear Lake

Clear Lake is the name of a natural body of water located in the city by the same name Clear Lake, in Cerro Gordo County. The average depth is 10 feet and the maximum depth is 19 feet. The lake has 13.6 miles of shoreline. It is approximately 3,684 acres in size. A very popular fishing destination it has walleye, bullhead, yellow bass and channel catfish. Clear Lake State Park is located on the shores of the lake.

Many people from neighboring Des Moines and even Twin Cities, Minnesota have had homes on the shores of the lake since the 1870's. It is home to the Clear Lake Yacht Club, a sailing club in downtown Clear Lake. Besides letting visitors laze around the beach, they also enjoy the area attractions. Its the water front activities – swimming, boating and fishing that keep bringing return visitors here.
