Cedar Bluff Reservoir

Cedar Bluff Reservoir is located on the Smoky Hill River in west central Kansas. Having excellent access roads the reservoir is open 24 hours. The reservoir provides approximately 6,100 surface acres of water for most kind of water recreational activities.

Swimming, camping, boating, fishing, wildlife viewing, and a variety of outdoor sports such as volleyball, basketball, frisbee and even golf are available around here. The gravel strewn beaches are a huge pull particularly in the summers. The demand for recreational use of Cedar Bluff waters has increased dramatically in the past few years.

This is an angler’s paradise that has emerged as one of the hottest fishing spots in the country. Available species include walleye, crappie, white bass, channel catfish, and wipers. Besides the region offers spectacular scenery and is also a haven for water sports enthusiasts. You have here the finest upland game bird and water fowl hunting during the fall and winter months.

It is the high limestone bluffs that provide the beautiful scenery. Add to this the stunning rustic setting the place makes for a great outdoor location. Boat ramps and a small craft landing ramp along with parking areas are located around the reservoir. No-wake zones exist at strategic locations throughout the lake ensuring safety.

Facilities here include 4 campgrounds, 140 campsites, 110 tent campsites, 91 RV hookups, 3 picnic areas, 175 picnic tables, 20 picnic shelters. The one swimming beach has swim shower facility, 5 boat launch ramps and lanes. 4 rest rooms at the campgrounds, 3 in the picnic areas and 3 at other locations are available.
