Carr Creek Beach

Carr Creek Lake, a 710 acre lake and surrounding area offers a wide variety of outdoor recreation opportunities. The beach is managed by the Corps, in cooperation with the Commonwealth of Kentucky, for wildlife, fisheries and recreation. Here fishing is an ever-present activity. You can find Crappie, bass, bluegill, and walleye fishes plentiful on the beach and it provides hours of fishing enjoyment. For those who do not prefer fishing, you can bring a boat and spend time exploring the lake or water-skiing. There is a short (less than one mile) nature trail located in the Dam area, for hikers. Adventurous visitors can enjoy on a six-mile trail, known as the Sugar Branch Trail, starting at the dam and ending at Sugar Lake Road. On hot days, swimming is a favorite pastime.

It is one of the best spot for picnicking. There are eight picnic shelters and additional picnic areas available for public use in the recreation areas around the lake. Reservations can be made by calling the Littcarr Campground gate attendants.
