Solomons Island

Solomons Island is an 80-acre town in Maryland located where the Patuxent River meets the Chesapeake Bay. Solomons Island more resembles a peninsula than an island as it is only separated from the mainland by a small strip of water, but that has no effect on it’s wonderful Maryland beaches and quaint, seaside-town attractions.

Most guests park free public parking lot and spend the day on foot; the island is small enough that this is the best way to enjoy it, and a planked boardwalk spans the main drag of Solomons Island.

Common activities include enjoying a picnic lunch, chartering a sailboat, or bird watching. Anglers may want to spend the day fishing on a chartered boat.

Other Solomons Islands attractions include the Calvert Marine Museum, the Drum Point Lighthouse, the Boat Basin and Marsh Walk and the Discovery Room. Of special interest is the Annmarie Garden, an outdoor sculpture garden that features artwork by both local and international artists.
