When to visit:

Summer is the prime tourist season in Montana, but the major parks are packed from March to September; traveler heading to Glacier or Yellowstone parks might want to book reservations a little early or a little late to avoid the worst of the crowds. The heaviest summer traffic ends around Labor Day.

Winter is also an excellent time to visit Montana for those who enjoy snow-centric activities. Skiing, for example, is a popular pastime in Montana during the winter months.
