Black Sandy Beach

Black Sandy Beach, is one of the most popular beach located on the shores of Hauser Lake. It is situated only 15 miles north of Helena. It has a huge dam created on it. The dam creates about 3,200 acre reservoir on the Missouri River. The lake provides water recreational opportunities, camping, a boat launch and a store to pick up conveniences.

You can enjoy outdoor recreation in a large amount. There are many other activities that can be enjoyed, such as whitewater paddling, fishing, hiking, swimming, and boating. The azure breakers striking the pretty shore is a wonderful scene. It has one of the longest trail having the length of 35 feet.

There are many places to visit near by the Black Sandy Beach. One of the most popular one is the Helena National Forest. There is the magnificent hiking along the Backside Trail, and the Prickly Pear Creek is one of the best splendid local stream. The campgrounds located at the Black Sandy Beach are quite great.

On the beach is located, the most popular public park. The site is spread over about 43 acres and has an elevation of 3,835 feet. There are 29 sites and 4 additional sites are for tents, that provide both flush and vault toilets, boat trailer parking, maps, RV dump station, grills/fire rings, picnic tables, trash cans, drinking water, and interpretive displays. It is popular for boating, kokanee salmon and trout fishing, and water-skiing take-off point.
