When to visit:

Nevada’s major tourist season is in the summer from June to September, though some desert locations, like certain parts of Death Valley, are actually closed to the general public due to brutal heat. Winter sees the higher passes in some of the parks closed due to snow. Off-season visits are often a good option.

Las Vegas sees throngs of visitors in the summer. The best time to visit Las Vegas is actually in from Thanksgiving to Christmas, when hotels are dirt-cheap and crowds are thinner (still, be sure to make reservations well in advance).
