Pecos River Corridor Recreation Area

The Pecos River Corridor Recreation Area runs along the Pecos River, north of Loving, New Mexico, to the New Mexico – Texas state line. The public access boat ramp is located on the state line, east of US 285 on County Road 276. Public land in the corridor is associated with the private and state land.

The Pecos River Corridor Recreation Area includes 6,000 acres of land with access to the Pecos River and areas surrounding the Red Bluff Reservoir. This area provides opportunity for water-based recreation and semi-primitive motorized recreation. A public access boat ramp is on the New Mexico side of Red Bluff Reservoir. One can enjoy the various activities, such as dispersed primitive camping, fishing, hiking and boating.

A few activities within walking distance are Lake Carlsbad Beach Park, Christmas on the Pecos, Tennis Complex, Riverwalk Recreation Center with Skate Park, Downtown Carlsbad, Banking and Playground on the Pecos to name a few.
