Facts

When to visit:

There isn’t a bad time or a cheap time to visit New York City. Genuinely avoiding crowds is, of course, impossible in a city like New York, but the biggest crowds hit the Big Apple in the height of the summer tourist season and in the winter around the holidays. The transitional seasons are less crowded and pricey, and you know what they say about Central Park in fall.

The rest of the state follows the same general pattern: summer, and to a lesser extent, winter are the busy seasons while spring and fall are pleasant and substantially cheaper alternatives with somewhat fewer attractions.
