Eugene Oregon is the 2nd largest city in the state and is the home of the University of Oregon. UO affects the culture of the city in numerous ways, from its progressive political character to the city’s love affair with communal art and culture in all its forms. The city is also a proud supporter of the UO Ducks athletic teams. The university houses the Museum of Natural History, which focuses on Native American studies and artifacts.
There are 100 parks in Eugene, and 2,600 acres of open space for visitors to walk, jog and bike in. The Willamette and McKenzie Rivers are the cities water-sports hot-spots, but there are good fishing, boating and camping opportunities just outside of town at Fern Ridge Lake.
